Our Story

Jiva began with a fascination with bamboo fabric. It holds colour beautifully, feels so soft to the touch, and it is a sustainable fiber! I fell for bamboo immediately and began searching for a manufacturer to produce a line of bamboo activewear for women.

The project began three years ago in San Diego, CA. I was working full-time at FIDM helping students decide on their own direction within the apparel industry, when it dawned on me the apparel industry is exactly where I want. Thanks to the many students, friends and my family who inspired and supported me along the way, Jiva launch it's Classic Collection. My interest in sustainable practices started early with local, organic and all natural foods. I also grew up with strict values emphasizing the importance of protecting and preserving all aspects of nature including even trees. Yes, you could say I am a natural born tree-hugger.

My interest in clothing came later and later still my interest in clothing made from sustainable fabrics. With the refinement of Hemp, the positive benefits of organic cotton, and the discovery of Bamboo, sustainable clothing has become a wardrobe staple.

With Jiva, my #1 goal is to bring you sustainable, well-fitting, classic additions to your wardrobe that you love! My #2 goal is to give you an option to participate in practical and positive change.
